Where have I been?
Nowhere - but I have no idea where the last few weeks went.
Well, perhaps I do - I have been working on 'stuff' that is not very shareable unless you find me 'clicketing - clacketing' away on the keyboard interesting.
I still do some work for Inspirations magazine (they have a beautiful new website by the way) which means that every three months I spend quite a bit of time in front of the screen, preparing all the embroidery designs and diagrams for the pattern sheets. So that is pretty much where the past two weeks have gone and it is nice to still be involved in some way.
By the way, that stunning violet on the cover of issue 82 is by Susan Porter - one very, very talented lady. You can find more of her amazing embroidery in her shop Embellish Embroidery.
So no stitching, you may ask - no stitching in two weeks? Are you kidding? Of course I have been stitching. I have made time to finish the green and red bird.
It is blocked and the ready to... well I don't know, but here he is all smooth, crisp and beautiful on the blocking board (read cork board covered in plastic).
Once I take it off it will be cropped in tight so that the pattern goes right to the edges - like this...
The only thing left to do is to give this piece a name. I am hopeless at that, so any suggestions are more than welcome.
Have a lovely week,
Anna

"Fantasy Bird with Flowers" or "Red and Green Blue Bird." Very nice, by the way!
ReplyDeleteNice suggestion, thank you.
Delete'Feather light'? Love the work as per usual.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, thank you.
DeleteSometimes life is just too full for blogging.=)
ReplyDeleteOh, I wonder if you remember the peacock feather I hoped to work on for your Finished in February drive last year? I remember you kindly expressed an interested in it. Well, it's finally done now and I posted about it today:

Yes, life is getting all too much in the way of late - never mind. I had a look at your peacock feather and it is definitely finished - I am not sure what you mean by the bottom of it being odd? To me it looks perfectly feathery. Well done!
DeleteHello Anna, I keep saying this with every piece you finish, but your work is truly stunning! Love the colours and the whole ambience. 'Paradisfugl' (as you would know, Danish for Bird of Paradise :) ) is my suggestion, or even the English version maybe? I am sure you will come up with something just perfect, in spite of saying (incorrectly!) you are hopeless! Keep up your inspiring work - it is so lovely to see whatever you are working on next...Heidi xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, Heidi. Paradisfugl is a nice suggestion too - this is only getting harder LOL
DeleteVery beautiful and I can definitely identify with not having much to share because of digital work rather than real world work...sigh...
ReplyDeleteFabulous bird spotting something tasty - how about "I spy with my little eye" ! Beautiful colours too.
ReplyDeleteLove your suggestion! but it gives me an idea for another design... Thank you.
